Bowling Green Ditches & Banks
For many years Verde Sports were market leaders in the supply and installation of synthetic surfaces for indoor, outdoor, permanent and portable bowling. Verde have installed greens worldwide - from England to Australia, Cyprus to Hong Kong, Spain and all around the Canary Islands. Verde sponsored the Short Mat National and World Championships for over 15 years.
Following the sale of the bowling division in 2005 Verde have concentrated on landscaping options for bowling greens. In particular, materials for covering Bowling Green Ditches and Banks.
Bowling Green Ditches
Whilst playing bowls there is a tendency for the bowl to fall into the ditch! In order to prevent the bowl from moving from its landed position and to protect it from damage, Verde offer a choice of surfaces to lay into the ditch bottom.
Profiled Rubber
Granulated rubber crumb matting in an 'egg-carton' appearance with a profile of 15/7mm. Supplied in manageable strips 1.25m long by your required ditch width. These short lengths are easy to lift to shake out dirt, stones and leaves. By purchasing the rubber in these 4 foot strips it prevents any excess charge for wastage so keeps cost to the minimum.

Verdeturf
A 20mm open pile artificial grass whose pile prevents the bowl from rolling around in the ditch bottom. VerdeTurf is fully U.V. and colour stabilised therefore ideal for outdoor applications. Verdeturf ditch bottoms are supplied in manageable lengths by your required width. Rolls are cut from a 4m width so wastage may need to be charged for, however the overall cost is very competitive.

Bowling Green Banks
Verde offer a choice of artificial surfaces, which are ideal for covering bowling green banks. All products should be supplied in even divisions of 4m widths to avoid any wastage being charged for. All products are fully UV and colour stabilised and would be supplied in manageable lengths.
Verdegrass
A 9mm curled pile artificial grass in a bright green. The soft knit-de-knit construction offers excellent cushioning should the bowl strike the banking.

VerdePlay
A needle-punched polypropylene material which has a soft loop pile to protect the bowls from the concrete wall. Verde supply this material in a number of colours but the dark olive green is recommended to minimise the appearance of dirt. Please note the VerdePlay is only supplied in even divisions of 2m.

Super VerdeTurf
This is a 15mm dense pile artificial grass, which has a soft finish. Olive green in colour so easily blends into the environment.

Super VerdeGrass
A 12mm dense pile artificial grass, which is extremely hardwearing. Olive green in colour with a directional pile that is hard to differentiate. It is ideal for clubs who prefer to loosely drape the grass in the ditch as opposed to an overall stick.

Adhesive
The artificial surface should be loose laid in the ditch bottom for ease of cleaning, however we strongly recommend that you permanently fix the grass to the bowling green bank.
Overall Stick to Banking
To adhere the artificial grass permanently to the banking we recommend the use of Verde Grass-Bond. This is a solvent based adhesive with a quick drying time and excellent bond. It is supplied in 20 litre drums or 5 litre tins.

Spot Stick to Banking
To hang the grass from either the banking or bumper bar we recommend either staple/tacking to the wall or spot adhesion with our Verde Grass-Stick Cartridge

Bumper Bars
Bumper bars are a common requirement, in particular for concrete ditches. Verde are pleased to offer 10mm rubber strips, cut to your required width, to attach to your bankings
